Best Online Dating Websites For Men Over 50

As an experiment, I wanted to see what dating apps were like, as I’d never imagined getting on one until I got divorced at the age of 55. I can tell you it was a learning curve no doubt, with hundreds of wasted hours and hundreds if not a thousand or more wasted dollars in bad dates that I refer to as “one-and-done’s”. It was painful to say the least.

But now that you’ve found my website and information I’m going to save you from all this agony and you will be more hyper-focused on which ones to use if you so choose to as they are not for the faint of heart. In fact, I would call them a “shit show” for the most part.

Determine Your End Goal

Like anything in life, including dating, you need to determine what you want the end result to look like. If you are newly divorced and over 50, you might want to sew your oats. Women do the same thing even if they won’t admit it because they have their “anti-slut” defense mechanism on.

Depending on where you are at in your divorced life, and what your short and long term goals are, will determine the dating app you should try. If you are newly divorced you should focus on your self-development before you even get on a dating app or website.

So what’s your goal? A committed relationship? Something casual? Multiple women? Or just sex?

Now that you know what you want, even if it’s for the short term, below are the dating websites and apps I would consider based on my experience.

Match.com

If you are really looking for a committed relationship, Match.com is considered the top website for adults looking for a relationship. I’m not a big fan of the site for several reasons, but if that’s what you’re looking for Match.com is worth a try for you. The way most of these dating sites are, you will have to pay for a month to see messages. Yes…I think it’s bullshit and a scam, but all the sites do it. I don’t use this site, but I think it’s $36 for a month.

Bumble

If you’re looking to meet women and get yourself out there, Bumble is a good start. What I like about it is you can be very successful with it and not have to pay a dime. What I don’t like about it is women have all the control. You swipe right, and if you match, they have to contact you first within 24 hours or the connection expires. I’m not a big fan of the woman being in control like this, but if you want to meet a lot of women quick give it a try.

Hinge

This one is actually one of my favorite dating sites for user experience. You can be successful and not have to pay which makes it even more appealing. The concept is you see peoples pictures, you can like and comment on a picture. The woman gets a notice and she can respond and match with you and you’re off to the races. It’s the same for the men too. Women can like and comment on one of your pictures and you get notified and you have the opportunity to comment back which automatically matches you. It’s a pretty cool concept I like a lot.

Zoosk

I am not a big fan of this dating website, as they make you pay to read or send messages. Again, total bullshit in my opinion. I don’t use it but I think it’s around $30 a month. The quality of women on this site is lower than Bumble for sure, so you will have to weed out a lot of women, but if you want to try a couple of sites at the same time to speed up your results, then give it a try, but for me, I did not like this site or experience at all.

Plenty Of Fish

In the manosphere, this website is referred to as “Plenty Of Whales” which is not too far off, unfortunately. The quality of women on this site is even lower than Zoosk. This site you can be successful without paying, so if you want a quick romp on a weekend and you’re willing to lower your standards to get laid, it’s not a bad choice for that reason only.

OK Cupid

I researched this one and compare it to maybe Zoosk. You have to pay to do anything on that site, so if you’re not willing to pay, just forget about it. OK Cupid and Tinder are owned by the same company. In fact, many of the top dating sites have the same umbrella company owning them.

Coffee Meets Bagel

I think this one is just plain stupid. In my opinion do not waste your time with it. I’m not even sure how it’s still around, as most people are on the Big 3: (Match, Bumble & Tinder).

Tinder

In my opinion, this website is for younger people. I’ve experimented with it several times, and tested different profiles, etc, and still did not like the outcome. You will see a ton of women in the late 40’s and 50’s on the site, but the quality is shit, and no one really does anything, so in my opinion, it’s a complete waste of time for a man over 50.

Many More Online Dating Websites

There are new online dating websites popping up every day, but they are all garbage and a waste of your time. You can go to the app store and see dozens of them from hookup apps, to religion apps, to anything in between. For research I got on some of them, but never paid. Most of these dating apps have fake profiles that lure you in to pay and then nothing happens at all. They all should be banned for sure, but they pop up every day in there.

In Conclusion

I hope you found this article helpful in your entry to online dating as a 50+-year-old man. It can be a brutal learning curve, but if you follow my advice in this article, you will be well on your way to having a lot of fun, and hopefully getting laid in the process.

With that being said, do not be afraid to approach women in the real world. They want men to approach them, but there are way too men betas out there. If you are willing to “man up” and approach them this will set you apart from all those beta males and you’ll go on more dates and have more sex faster when you do it.
